ند الجارود
Ned is a seasoned innovation executive with a 25+ years of startup/turnaround experience in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has held senior roles with successful tech ventures (e.g. Zawya), Fortune 500 multinationals (Intel, CA), family firms (National Holding), and government (UAE Prime Minister’s Office).
He is currently Senior Advisor Innovation in the Director General Office at Expo 2020 Dubai, which he joined after launching and leading 1776 Dubai, the first international tech incubator to setup in the Middle East, in partnership with the Dubai Future Foundation.
He is quite active in innovation and entrepreneurship as engines of economic growth and social development, mentoring and advising high-impact startups and SME’s, incubators, accelerators, and community networks such as the Young Arab Leaders organization and the Stanford UAE Alumni Club, of which he was the Founding President. He holds a Master’s from Stanford and Bachelor’s from Northeastern University in Boston, both in engineering, in addition to a management certificate from INSEAD. He is fluent in Arabic, English, and French. In what remains of his spare time, he enjoys art, history, sports, and spending quality time with the family.
