Huda Al Lawati is tapped in August 2016 by Savola Group as Chief Investment Officer.
She has more than twelve years of experience in private equity and finance. In 2004, she joined The Abraaj Group for the Middle East and North Africa region and has worked on several transactions at the firm, developing strong experience in several industries including oil and gas, education, F&B, retail and healthcare. As a Partner and Chief Investment Officer, she has been leading the Group’s oil and gas initiatives in addition to the Group’s investments across the GCC in healthcare, education and F&B sectors including investments in Viking International, Kuwait Energy, and Saudi F&B businesses. She is also responsible for monitoring the Group’s investments across the MENA region.
She started her career in 2001 with Schlumberger in Muscat, Oman, where she managed the fiscal accounts and tax audits of its subsidiaries and branches in Oman. She joined ABQ Zawya in 2003, where she developed and implemented the business plan and strategy for a regionally focused online financial portal. Huda holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Economics (Honors) from Brown University.
