YAL Partnership

Young Arab Leaders and Harvard Business School Aerospace Alumni Association (HBSAAA) through this Knowledge Partnership aim to work together towards the continuous development of YAL and HBSAAA members, in terms of leadership and professional excellence, who serve as a strong network of mentors, motivators, and influencers for the youth and entrepreneurial ecosystem of the UAE and the Middle East region.

Dubai, UAE – 30 September 2018: Young Arab Leaders (YAL) and British Council UAE today announced a new knowledge one-year partnership. YAL Executive Director, Ms. Nabra Al Busaidi, and British Council Head of Programmes & Partnerships in UAE, Gemma Barlow, signed the agreement in Dubai, UAE.

The knowledge partnership serves a commitment between an Academic Partner and YAL to promote, support & co-organize business educational events in the UAE. It will provide access to information, connections & knowledge supplied by partners.

Under the agreement, YAL will join British Council on a number of organizational, business and entrepreneurship initiatives. The partnership includes knowledge & connections sharing, mentorship, speaking opportunities, business community outreach events and visibility. It also gives both organizations’ members exclusive invitations & complimentary access to selected events that benefit entrepreneurs and business leaders in the region.

British Council is now the most recent partner of YAL’s network that includes 29 prominent entities which have entered into, strategic, ecosystem, knowledge, community or media partnerships with YAL.

As of today, YAL has signed five knowledge partnerships with key academic stakeholders in the region including British Council UAE, Harvard Business Review Arabia, London Business School, Harvard Club of the UAE & HKS Alumnni Network of the UAE.

Juma becomes Expert Council member at Harvard Business Review Arabic, the world’s leading business magazine in its Arabic edition! Through a partnership with the Massachusetts-based Harvard Business Publishing, Haykal Media has acquired the rights to publish the Arabic version of the magazine giving Arabic readers the chance to enjoy unrivalled content in print and online. The first issue was published in April 2015. HBR Arabic magazine covers a range of topics including management, leadership, career and entrepreneurship. It offers expert advice on marketing and economy and brings the latest studies and analysis that keep followers informed. Published six times a year, HBR Arabic is delivered to subscribers wherever they were in the world. Read more

Juma will also serve for the second time as a judge at the 12th Edition of the MIT Enterprise Forum Arab Startup Competition. In 2017, he helped brinng this competition to Oman for the first time, mobilized over 80 mentors to support the entrepreneurs participating beside playing key role in judging panel. MIT Enterprise Forum Arab Startup Competition (ASC) is a yearly competition initiated by the MIT Enterprise Forum Pan Arab since 2006. This annual competition is designed to empower entrepreneurs and foster an eco-system of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Arab Region. ASC pits entrepreneurs in three different tracks: Ideas, Startups and Social Entrepreneurship Track. The winning teams are awarded 160K USD in equity free fund and benefit from a range of other activities including top tier trainings, mentorship, coaching, media exposure and great networking opportunities. Dubai, UAE – 23 October 2018: Young Arab Leaders and Pearl Initiative today announced an ecosystem one-year partnership. YAL Executive Director, Ms. Nabra Al Busaid, and Pearl Initiative Executive Director, Carla Koffel, signed the agreement in Dubai, UAE.

Under the agreement, YAL will join Pearl Initiative on several organizational, business and entrepreneurship initiatives. The partnership centered on knowledge sharing, mentorship, speaking opportunities, community outreach events, network creation and visibility. The two organizations share a common goal on creating the best atmosphere for entrepreneurs and business leaders in the Arabian Gulf region.

As part of the agreement, YAL & Pearl Initiative will also collaborate on advocacy and raise student & entrepreneur awareness on key business issues.

Pearl Initiative is now the latest partner of YAL’s network that includes 28 prominent entities which   entered into founding, strategic, ecosystem, knowledge, community or media partnerships.

YAL & Pearl Initiative are leading regional non-profit organizations that share a deep commitment to promote & empower the highest standards of entrepreneurship conduct, culture, governance & policy within the region’s business & academic communities.
